Dr. Reese

Veterinarian, Fear Free Certified

Growing up in Florida, Dr. Reese always dreamed of growing up to one day become a “dogtor.” She knew that she would absolutely love to combine her passion for science and medicine with her lifelong love of animals! Now, Dr. Reese gets to help pets and their owners every single day. Dr. Reese attended the University of Florida to earn her Doctorate and become a licensed veterinarian. After graduating in 2013, she moved to Colorado to join fellow outdoor enthusiasts and pet lovers—Dr. Reese quickly fell in love with the mountain town lifestyle, and it wasn’t long before she’d met her husband, Chris.
Dr. Reese and Chris love spending time with their son, Fisher. They have one dog at home: Doug, who is the perfect mix of goofy and adventurous; and Tater Tot, their loveable feline.

Dr. Evy

Veterinarian, Fear Free Certified

A childhood filled with animals and a passion for science made the veterinary field a clear career choice for Dr. Evy. Helping pets to live happier, healthier lives is all she’s ever wanted to do! She couldn’t be happier to serve as a part of the veterinary team here at Ski Town Animal Hospital.
Dr. Evy hails from Cincinnati, Ohio, and attended Ohio State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine to earn her Doctorate. She completed a one-year mixed-animal internship in Carbondale, Colorado after graduation, where she worked alongside Dr. Reese and got the chance to put all of her education into practice.
Next, Dr. Evy moved on and practiced in Eagle, Colorado for two rewarding years. When the opportunity arose for Dr. Evy to join forces with Dr. Reese once again, she jumped at the chance. She’s been a valued member of the Ski Town Animal Hospital family ever since!
Outside of work, Dr. Evy enjoys exploring Steamboat Springs, hiking, climbing, biking, snowsporting, and spending time with her friends, family, and pets.

Certified Veterinary Technician, Fear Free Certified

Jackie was born and raised in central Florida, where she spent most of her free time caring for her pets and riding and showing horses in the hunter circuit. For her, caring for those that can’t always ask for help is a dream come true! Jackie is a Certified Veterinary Technician with the Ski Town Animal Hospital family.
Jackie was still in high school when she signed on for her first job at a veterinary clinic. She advanced her career as a Technician, then enrolled in St. Petersburg College in 2015 to study veterinary technology. She completed her degree while working full-time, and graduated in 2017. Jackie has been a Certified Veterinary Technician ever since!
After helping pets at two other veterinary hospitals in Florida for a total of 12 years, Jackie decided to make a change and moved to Steamboat Springs in the fall of 2020. It wasn’t long before she’d signed on here at Ski Town Animal Hospital. She couldn’t be happier with her choice! Jackie is particularly fond of anesthesia and surgical work, and her favorite part of the job is chatting one-on-one with pet owners and their adorable animal companions every day.
In her free time, Jackie likes hiking and exploring the outdoors. Her newest hobby is snowboarding, which she learned this past winter. (She’d only seen snow once before!) At home, Jackie and her boyfriend share their lives with several pets. The couple has five lovable cats and two Catahoula/Bulldog mixes named Blue and Earl.

Technician Assistant, Fear Free Certified

Knowing that she’s helped an animal, even in the smallest of ways, is one of the best feelings Kayla knows. For her, working in veterinary medicine and getting to better the lives of not only pets, but their loving owners, is the ultimate career! Kayla is a Technician Assistant with the Ski Town Animal Hospital family.
A Colorado native, Kayla was active in the 4-H program while growing up, and attended Penn Foster College a few years ago to study veterinary assisting. When she found out about an open position here at Ski Town Animal Hospital, she knew it was the perfect way to supplement her studies with real-world experience. After completing her Veterinary Assistant’s certification, Kayla was promoted to the Technician Assistant position and began working toward her Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology. She loves the way her work here at the clinic gives her the motivation to be the best Technician she can be—it only makes her more of a vital member of the team!
When time permits between her busy school and work schedules, Kayla likes camping, hiking, biking, fishing, and rollerblading in the great outdoors, and she’s also fond of traveling. She and her boyfriend, Connor, are currently remodeling an old bus into an off-grid camper! The couple share their lives with two beautiful Pit Bulls: Grizzly, a huge cuddle bug who loves playing fetch; and Skye, whose favorite pastimes are snuggling up to Mom and Dad and playing tug-of-war with her brother.
